Pride In Norfolk Prize money

by Alison Skipper - 20:44 on 07 February 2013

I am sure that you are all aware that in October 2012 Caston entered the Pride of Norfolk 2012 Awards, “What makes your community special” section, for villages with a population of less than 500. Caston was judged to be the winner and was awarded a prize of £500, together with a gold metal plaque, which is on display in the Village Hall. See the article online at the homepage of this site.

The Parish Council would like residents of the village to suggest ideas of how to spend the £500 prize money. It is envisaged that it would fund a permanent item in the village so that there is a lasting memorial of this event.

Please send your suggestions to one of the following by 22nd March 2013 for consideration.

1. This blog
2. caston.clerk@virgin.net
3. The Clerk - address on the Parish Council web page
4. Let a Parish Councillor know
5. Post a letter in the box on the Village Hall nearest the door.
6. Attend the next Parish council meeting on 4th March at 7.30 in the Village Hall.

Thank you for your help.

There is no play area park with swings etc for children. Griston have a lovely park play area with climbing frames etc. Would it not be a good idea to put the money towards something like this. Lesley Crosthwaite

I think a play area on Coronation Terrace is a fantastic idea.
