Caston School Share Victory With Ovington Village Hall

The inter-organisational team quiz was held at Caston Village Hall on Friday evening, 21st May. In a tight fought contest 14 teams battled it out over eight rounds covering questions on food and drink, sport and literature. There were also two interval quizzes on recognising famous people and common logos that contributed to the final total.
At the end of the evening a Caston School team emerged as victors for the fourth year but this time they had to share victory with the Ovington Village Hall team. This is the first time that victory has been shared in all the years that this annual competition has been running and the names of both teams will be engraved on the plaque.

Members of the Ovington team were Christine Reiilly, Gordon North, Mike Glenn and Rod Romsby and the members of the Caston School team were Jamie Philpott, Trudie Philpott and Sheena Arden. The questions were set by Brenda Southgate and family and the quiz-master was Ian McIntosh assisted by his wife Rosemary. The Village Hall Chairman John Chapman presented the teams with their winning certificates.
