Remembrance Service

Parishioners Remember the Fallen.

At 11.00 am on the eleventh day of the eleventh month,  in common with many cities, towns and villages throughout Britain and elsewhere, many of the villagers of Caston remembered the fallen in battle.

Because of very windy and wet weather the short service was held in the Church of the Holy Cross, Caston, and was presided over by the Rev. Father Bob Nichols.  Representatives of Caston Parish Council, Caston Parish Church and Caston Primary School laid wreaths below the book of remembrance at he church.  Pupils of Caston Primary School were also in attendance.  The Last Post and Reveille were played by Ruth Trowne and the standard of the British Legion was born by Mr Bob Steggles who was carrying it for the last time after many years of service.
