The Church of the Holy Cross in Caston was lit by candles and was packed to capacity on the evening of Sunday 19th December to share in a service of traditional carols and readings to celebrate the birth of Christ. The children of Caston Primary School sang and played several Christmas tunes on the hand-bells which was much appreciated by the congregation and Father Bob Nichols led the service . Following the Blessing and singing the final carol of "Oh Come All Ye Faithful", warm mulled wine and mince pies were served. Altogether it was a great occasion to commence the Christmas celebrations.
