The bench sited opposite the war memorial on the Green at Caston has been replaced by a teak bench in memory of Joe Milner.

Joe had been a Caston resident for about 30 years and had served on the Parish council.  He died on 13th January 2007 and his family kindly donated the bench as a memorial and tribute to him.

He was a prominent participant in the annual 11th November memorial services where he could be seen proudly wearing his service medals and frequently laid a wreath in memory of the fallen of both world wars.

The Parish Council are to re-site the former bench elsewhere in the village.
