Readers may be wondering at what stage the Caston Village Hall Management Committee have reached with the refurbishment of the hall. Currently final plans have been received from the commissioned architect prior to submission to Breckland Council for planning permission. Once this is obtained work can proceed on seeking the necessary additional funding required from grants and other sources.
The project includes for the provision of a new storage room to the rear of the hall, new kitchen and toilet facilities, improved insulation and cladding, a porch and new entrance to the front of the building and extensive car parking improvements. Some modification will be made to the main hall interior. It is hoped that all can be achieved within a four year time frame.
A further and more immediate facility being provided is the provision of a wireless Broadband connection at the hall which will be available for hall users. At the time of writing, this is scheduled to go live on 18th November.
As a reminder, the hall is available for hire for parties, games, conferences and other functions. Details can be found on the hall website (www.castonvillagehall.co.uk) or by contacting the Booking Secretary, Malcolm Valentine, on 01953 483440.
