Remembrance 2011

The village of Caston came to a halt today at the eleventh hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 2011 when residents gathered at both the village green, for a service led by Father Bob Nichols, and at the village hall, where they remembered the fallen of World Wars I and II.

Father Bob read aloud the names of the fallen from our villages.  The sound from Ruth Trown’s trumpet rang out across the village green as she played both the Last Post and the Reveille.

The 50 plus gathered residents ended the service when they sang the National Anthem.  In the village hall a further 40 residents and children stood to mark the two minute silence.
