£20,000 more grant monies awarded to Holy Cross Church, Caston

£15,000 Grant from the National Churches Trust

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) of Holy Cross Church, Caston, Norfolk, have just received notification from the National Churches Trust (NCT) that they have been awarded a £15,000 grant. The Church is working on an ambitious project that includes re-thatching the roof to ensure it is water tight. At the same time a number of other repairs and new work are also being undertaken.

The National Churches Trust’s £15,000 grant will help Holy Cross to fund the installation of a kitchenette. Currently the Church has no running water and this grant will allow for a mains water supply and the provision of a kitchenette which will transform the ability to provide food and refreshments and enable the Church to be used for a much wider range of events.

£5,000 Grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation

The PCC have also received notification that they have been awarded £5,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation and this valuable contribution will be put towards improvements to the Church to extend the range of facilities available for the whole of the local community.

The PCC are very grateful to both bodies for making these funds available

As previously reported, Holy Cross Church will close for most of 2018 whilst it undergoes a rethatch and other repairs and improvements. The confirmed date for closure is now MONDAY 5TH FEBRUARY 2018. From this date there will be no access to the Church (due to Health and Safety factors which are the responsibility of the Contractor) but the Churchyard will remain open for public visits, burials and the interment of Ashes. Any questions regarding this should be directed to Graham Penfold on 07770-650971.
