Carol Service

There was standing room only at the candlelit carol service at Holy Cross Church, Caston, held on 17th December, 2006. During the service, children from Caston Primary School (trained by Mrs. Sue Lee) delighted the congregation with their singing and playing of hand bells. After the service, the congregation was treated to mulled wine and mince pies,

 A Royal Celebration
A good crowd enjoyed a concert at Caston Church on 9th September, 2006, in aid of Caston Church funds. The theme of the concert, devised by Christine Brown, was 'A Royal Celebration'in honour of our Queen's 80th birthday year. Christine (mezzo-soprano) sang songs from the reigns of Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. She was accompanied by June Garratt, who, along with John Garratt, also recited poetry. Annamaria Nichols (violin) performed pieces from the 17th and 20th centuries. Some delightful interval refreshments were prepared by Jane Horner.
