Christmas Party 2006

What a really great evening. December’s meeting saw us tucking into ham, turkey jacket potatoes and salad followed by Christmas pudding, mince pies and cheesecakes all washed down with punch. Prizes for the year were presented by our president Pam Frogbrook. The Messant Cup, awarded annually for the most points gained at monthly competitions, was won by Louise with Denise (2nd) and Elsa (3rd). Denise won the bloom of the month award.

The monthly competition to make a snowman was won by Elsa with Pam Corne second and Louise third.

Entertainment followed with a Christmas hand bells performance by the Committee.  They did really well and played a number of tunes including Silent Night - there must have been quite a lot of practice to get to this stage of performance.

Next was “pass the parcel” a silly game for a lot of grown up women but we thoroughly enjoyed it. This was won by Wendy Edwards.  And then the “pièce de résistance” - two superb monologue renderings by Lynne and Louise assisted by Kay.  We shall all see them in a different light now!!

As can be seen by the short video below, a really excellent evening, it's always great fun when you make your own entertainment.

Special thanks to the committee for organising the splendid meal as well as entertainment plus the outings of 2006 - it adds to all the fun of the WI. and is really appreciated by members.

A happy Christmas and healthy New Year to all members, villagers of Caston and web site visitors to Caston on Line.
