2013 Open Gardens

Dateline: Saturday & Sunday 29th/30th June 2013

Twelve home owners opened their gardens to benefit the Church, The Village Hall and East Anglian Air Ambulance.  The Church was beautifully decorated with flowers, the Village Hall served teas on Saturday and Lunches on Sunday.  Additionally afternoon teas were served on Sunday at Church Farm opposite the church and the weather could not have been kinder as you can see from the small selection of images below.  Click on an image to enlarge it. But do read on.......

As well as being able to view the gardens and the church there were also exhibitions of work from both Caston Art Club and Caston Camera Club

The event was heavily publicised and as a result a coach arrived with 30+ people from Wymondham and others came from as far afield as Lincolnshire and Kent.

A resounding success and all down to the many folk in our village who gave their time and energy that resulted in gross takings of £3,600.  A donation of £200.00 was made to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the remainder was split equally between the village hall refurbishment fund and the Church of the Holy Cross heating fund.

Later in the year it is hoped we will have an evening at the village hall where we can enjoy a social gathering with some food and a full slide show of the many remaining images.
