Caston Fete 2015

2015 Caston Fete is Great Success.

Chase Farm was the venue for the annual  2015 Caston Fete.  The afternoon was blessed by good weather and the event was very well attended,  The fete was opened by a knitted version of Father Bob, the rector of the Church of the Holy Cross in Caston, who arrived in an open topped car.  The human version was officiating at a wedding.

The New Buckenham Silver Band provided a superb programme of music to entertain, the Caston Primary School Gym Club performed a skilled presentation and all the stalls and sideshows were well attended.  The hot dog and beef-burger stall had great support as did the ice cream seller.  A chance to relax was provided on the tea lawn outside the farmhouse where folk could take in the music and enjoy an excellent selection of home made cakes whilst listening to the band.  There was a beautiful tractor competition and in the evening there was a parade of vintage tractors around the lanes of Caston and Stow Bedon finishing at the "Red Lion" pub in Caston for a barbecue evening.

Altogether it was a most enjoyable event and the Fete Committee were very grateful for all the help manning stalls and sideshows together with the support of all the folk who attended to help make it an excellent day to remember.  The event raised a record breaking £3578.67 which was donated to the Church of the Holy Cross, Caston.
